Pricing
Google Workspace: From $7 per user/mo on an annual plan ($8.40 month to month); 14-day trial
Toggl Track: Free tier, paid from $9/user/mo
Description
Google Workspace: Google's business suite: Gmail on your own domain, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Meet, with Gemini built in
Toggl Track: Simple time tracking that works
Pros
- Professional email at your own domain on every plan
- Business Starter includes 30 GB of storage per user, video meetings for up to 100 people and Gemini in Gmail
- The Flexible plan bills monthly for the users you have, and you can cancel at any time
- One-click timer that stays out of your way
- Free tier covers up to 5 users with core tracking features
- 100% bootstrapped to $32M ARR: the product is not going anywhere
Cons
- Business Starter leaves out Gemini in Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive; those start on Business Standard at $14 per user a month on an annual plan
- Recording Meet calls needs Business Standard or higher
- Introductory discounts apply to new customers for the first 12 months only
- Reporting on free tier is limited to basic time logs
- $9/user/month gets expensive when you add contractors or part-timers
Details
Workspace gives you email at your own domain plus Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Meet under one login. Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, is built into Gmail on every plan and into the other apps from Business Standard up.
Business Starter covers the basics for one person: email, 30 GB of pooled storage per user and meetings for up to 100 people. Business Standard ($14 per user a month on an annual plan) adds 2 TB of storage, meeting recordings, appointment booking pages and eSignature in Docs and PDFs.
The prices on the pricing page assume a one-year commitment. Paying month to month on the Flexible plan costs more: $8.40 per user for Business Starter. New customers also get introductory prices for their first 12 months, on up to 20 users.
Toggl is time tracking that doesn’t feel like a chore. Founded in Estonia by Alari Aho in 2006, 100% bootstrapped to $32M ARR with 1M+ users. Started as an internal tool, became a product when a recession forced them to focus. Fully remote team across 40+ countries.
