Details

ChatGPT is OpenAI’s assistant. Besides chat, it searches the web, works with files and spreadsheets, creates images, holds voice conversations and takes on multi-step work in ChatGPT Work. Codex, OpenAI’s coding agent, is included in the same plans.

Go ($8/month) mainly raises the free limits. Plus ($20/month) is where the advanced reasoning models, projects, scheduled tasks and fuller Codex access start. Pro starts at $100 a month in three usage tiers, for people who use it all day.

Business plans for teams start at two users. OpenAI’s API is billed separately from any ChatGPT plan.

Gemini is Google’s assistant, on the web and as a mobile app. It chats, researches with Deep Research, creates and edits images, and on paid plans generates video. Paid plans also put Gemini inside Gmail, Docs and other Google apps.

It suits founders who already live in Google’s tools. Google AI Plus ($4.99/month) doubles the free usage limits and adds 400 GB of storage. Google AI Pro ($19.99/month) gives four times the free limits, 5 TB of storage and entry access to Google’s coding agents, Jules and Antigravity.

Ultra starts at $99.99 a month for the highest limits. For a company account, Google sells Gemini Enterprise separately from $21 per seat a month, and Gemini also comes with Google Workspace plans.
